Real products. Illustrative game art.
Last updated August 3, 2026. These notices explain how Shelf Hunt uses product identifiers, product information, brand names, and package illustrations.
The short version: product artwork is illustrative and product data can be incomplete, outdated, or wrong. Shelf Hunt does not rate products as healthy, safe, high-quality, or suitable for you. Always rely on the current physical package and the manufacturer for ingredients, allergens, warnings, directions, and product claims.
1. Product data and barcode identifiers
Shelf Hunt may combine information from manufacturers, retailers, public or open product databases, barcode-lookup services, submitted brand materials, automated classification, and human review. A UPC, EAN, ISBN, or other identifier identifies an item; it does not independently establish the item's ingredients, safety, quality, price, availability, or nutritional characteristics.
Names, categories, flavors, package types, colors, ingredients, and other metadata may be incomplete, translated, inferred, simplified for gameplay, or no longer current. Shelf Hunt does not warrant that catalog information is complete or error-free.
2. Stylized and AI-assisted illustrations
Product sprites and reveal images may be created with illustration software, artists, automated image tools, and AI-assisted tools using product references. They are game artwork, not official package photography, manufacturing specifications, or exact digital replicas.
Illustrations may simplify, omit, reposition, or imperfectly reproduce text, colors, logos, package shape, size, quantity, flavor, claims, or other details. Packaging can also change after an illustration is created. Do not use an illustration to make a purchase, dietary, allergy, medical, safety, or authenticity decision.
3. Brand names, logos, and ownership
Third-party product names, company names, logos, package designs, and trademarks belong to their respective owners. Shelf Hunt does not claim ownership of those third-party rights. References are used to identify products and support gameplay, cataloging, reporting, and clearly disclosed campaigns.
Unless a placement is clearly labeled as sponsored, advertised, or presented by a brand, the appearance of a product does not mean its manufacturer or retailer sponsors, endorses, approves, or is affiliated with Shelf Hunt. Likewise, Shelf Hunt does not endorse a product merely by including it.
4. No health, nutrition, safety, or professional recommendation
Game categories, clues, connections, scores, frequency, difficulty, and product placement are not medical, nutritional, dietary, allergy, safety, environmental, or professional advice. They are not a claim that one product is healthier, safer, better, more effective, or more appropriate than another.
Before consuming or using a product, inspect its current packaging and follow the manufacturer's directions and warnings. People with allergies, sensitivities, health conditions, dietary restrictions, or questions about a product should consult the manufacturer and an appropriate qualified professional.
5. Editorial selection, neutrality, and sponsored content
Unpaid products may appear because they are recognizable, available in the reviewed catalog, technically suitable for a puzzle, or selected through editorial rules or randomization. Unpaid inclusion, omission, grouping, or frequency is not a ranking, endorsement, criticism, or recommendation.
Paid product, brand, category, coupon, affiliate, and advertising placements receive commercial consideration and are labeled accordingly. Sponsors may purchase an eligible placement, but Shelf Hunt retains control over puzzle accuracy, scoring, disclosures, and suitability. A sponsorship is not evidence of product quality, healthfulness, safety, popularity, or performance.
6. Shopping, coupons, and external sites
Optional retailer and affiliate links may generate compensation for Shelf Hunt. Prices, inventory, coupon eligibility, delivery, returns, and destination-site practices are controlled by third parties and may change. Shelf Hunt is not the seller unless expressly stated.
7. Availability and corrections
Shelf Hunt may correct, replace, remove, or reclassify product information or artwork at any time. Game availability and catalog coverage are not guaranteed. Brand campaign materials are also governed by the Advertiser Terms.
8. Limits
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Shelf Hunt provides product metadata and illustrations on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of accuracy, completeness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Nothing here limits rights that cannot legally be limited.
These notices are a practical operating draft, not a substitute for advice from qualified counsel. They should be reviewed before launch and whenever Shelf Hunt materially changes its data sources, advertising products, image-generation process, or audience.
