WHAT THE BARS MEAN

A product identity, not a secret ingredient code.

The black-and-white bars are a scanner-readable version of the number printed below them. The number identifies a trade item; it does not encode its price, flavor, ingredients, or color.

1–11A licensed GS1 Company Prefix plus an item reference assigned by the company.
12A calculated check digit: alternating digits are weighted by 3 and 1, and the total must end in zero.
95The fixed number of narrow modules across a complete UPC-A symbol.

How to play

Barcode Breaker

Deduce four missing digits from a real product barcode and reveal the product behind it.

  1. Build a four-digit guess

    Select a digit tile, then tap a number. The barcode redraws as you edit all four positions.

  2. Check the feedback

    Green is the right digit in the right position. Yellow is in the code but in another position. Dark is not in the code.

  3. Keep confirmed digits

    Green positions lock automatically. Edit the remaining positions using what each earlier guess taught you.

  4. Crack the barcode

    There is no attempt limit. Finish to reveal the product and compare your guesses and time with other players.

Good to know: the four digits come from a real UPC. A barcode identifies a trade item; its bars do not encode ingredients, price, flavor, or color.
